KNOX VASE JEWELRY
Inspired by a Vase from 1902 in the collections of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

The vase from which this jewelry draws its inspiration, was designed by Archibald Knox (British 1864-1933), and made for Liberty & Company. It was made of silver, enamel and Connemara marble. Knoxs designs for Liberty - with his blend of a modernist sensibility with Celtic inspired ornament - helped to define the Celtic Revival. Knoxs versatility in various media including metalwork, textile design, ceramics and stonework, singles him out as an important figure in the evolution of modern decorative arts.
