Established in 1997, the Museum Store Company - TheArtifact™ is dedicated to bringing our customers the most select and exquisite collection of art, artifact, and museum reproductions, as well as historical and classical jewelry. COMPANY HISTORY: The Museum Store Company (and TheArtifact) was founded in 1997, and is operated by Arden (Arden Technologies, Inc., est. 1994). Since that time we have become one of the largest collections of museum and art reproductions anywhere. Since 1997, we've sold thousands of reproductions to individuals, institutions, and companies worldwide. As a result we have received some nice inclusions, awards, and very kind words from our customers:
- In Spring of 1999, we were featured on ABC.COM in 1999 as a part of the production of Cleopatra starring Timothy Dalton (aka. James Bond).
- In Fall of 1999, Goto.com (now Overture) showcased TheArtifact as a select and unique destination for their Shopping Safari promotion.
- In the April 2000, we were featured in the cover article of Germany's Geo Magazine
- In the January 2000 issue of Presence Magazine we were recognized in their "Best of the Web 2000" article.
- In 2002, we supplied the Students Exhibition for Studium Biblicum in Hong Kong. In 2003 we continue to provide our reproductions to schools across the United States from Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Texas, New York, Nevada to California. Schools please call for special academic programs.
- In January of 1999 and September of 2002, we sold items to the Boston of Museum of Science for use in exhibits and as teaching tools.
- In the Fall of 2002, we provided a number of items to Universal Studios Japan for their Mummy II exhibit!

SHIPPING & HANDLING: Standard Ground Shipping and Handling is flat rate FREE for your order and typically takes 3-9 business days, with smaller items such as jewelry on the faster standard delivery (Domestic Shipping, Small Items All States, Large Items Lower 48 States Only). Express Delivery and Expedited Handling (Normally UPS or FEDEX 2nd or 3rd Day Air/Premium Expedited) is $19.95 per item (Domestic Shipping, Small Items All States, Large Items Lower 48 States Only). If an item is not able to ship to AK or HI for Standard shipping our shipping department will promptly contact you after ordering. Please note certain items and special orders which are exceptionally heavy may have additional shipping charges and/or might not be able to be shipped via Express. Please note Express Order placed before 1pm, MST are processed on that day. Orders received after 1pm will be processed on the next day, with delivery occurring 2 to 3 business days from that day (weekends and holidays are not included). Additionally, Standard shipping is not a guaranteed service. Estimated times are simply estimates and the shipping companies may take additional time. Express orders are shipped under a guaranteed 2-3 day timeframe (if placed within our express guidelines), but all the shipping companies do (sometimes during the holidays) but many times due to weather or other area interruptions, will “suspend temporarily” their “Money-Back Guarantee for on-time delivery” (*from FedEx website, but similar for UPS) for their Express Services. As such the shipping companies will not refund us due to the “Service Interruptions” and as such we will not be able to refund you. Lost or Damaged Items: For Damaged items, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. Per courier policy, both lost and damaged items must be reported promptly by us to the courier for damage claim and/or review, which we may require additional documentation from customer. For Lost Items, please contact via email within 14 days after the expected delivery time (first by using any forwarded tracking information from your account or by the estimated delivery times upon the initial order), for items which should have been delivered by did not arrive. Most items do ship with tracking information, but for certain orders / items tracking information will not be available or provided. We will then research the missing item, and provide a solution, either reshipment or refund. We may need additional documentation from customer certifying non-receipt to process a claim. For lost items any and all reshipment(s) or refund must be processed within three months from the expected delivery date of the original order. As such, we reserve the right to deny claims of damage and/or loss if not promptly notified by you, as among other things they may be declined by the courier company. Once we receive a notice, we will open a claim up with the shipping company. Shipping Couriers reserve the right to process and review the claim which can take up to a few weeks. Please note the selection of handling, courier and shipment method(s) are of our selection, in a manner which we feel best meets the required delivery commitment for the order. Additionally, orders with multiple items, and expedited orders, might ship from different warehouses and arrive a few days apart.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS AND CONSOLIDATED SHIPMENTS: We process and ship internationally all the time, but please be aware that international orders typically are subject to additional shipping charges. Please note, if additional shipping is required, we will not ship an order until receiving a customer's approval of the revised shipping charges. As customs and duties are assessed at the destination country and entirely out of our control, the custom or duties assessed previous to delivery is the responsibility of the recipient. International shipments, along with large domestics consolidated shipments, may take additional time as they typically need to be consolidated or transferred to our main warehouse for international shipment or domestic freight shipment. As such for both international and domestic consolidated shipments, any cancellation, return, or refund will be less any consolidation fees incurred in addition to the shipping charges, any item and items in a consolidated shipment are subject to a 25% restocking fee. Non-refundable consolidation fees, include transfer shipping and fees, repackaging fees, pallet charges, stuffing fees, lift-gate fees, storage fees, and prepaid commercial tariffs.Abandoned and unclaimed freight items, in addition to being non-refundable may be charged additional fees including disposal fees. Other Consolidated and Truck Freight shipments are inspected prior to shipment and are insured for damage during transit, to be received in the condition as shipped. For these shipments, Customer is required to directly arrange and schedule a timely delivery with the freight company, normally within a few days of being contacted by freight company. Customer is to notify both shipping company and ourselves at the time of receipt of any damage of any truck freight delivered item, before signing and releasing the shipment from the shipping company driver. Customer will assist in documenting such damage for claim to shipping company for truck freight shipment.
RETURNS: We have a 14 day return policy for a full item refund and credit (excluding original shipping and handling charges which are not refundable). All returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number issued by us to the original purchaser which is to be placed on the outside of the package. Please email us (by replying to your original order confirmation or shipping confirmation) or call us to receive an RMA number within 14 days upon receipt of the item to be returned. We will then issue an RMA, and instructions on how and where to return the item(s). Returns are requested to be made in the items original packaging with sufficient padding (as it was originally shipped) via trackable and insured means, and upon receipt we will promptly issue a credit, per your original payment, for the returned item(s). Please note original shipping charges are not refundable. Additionally, certain items and regular format special orders items are subject to a 25% restocking fee, along with any cancellation of a special order item, which has been submitted for production. Please note custom production items and customized and/or large special order items are not cancelable after submission for production and are not returnable. Any return received without an RMA may be refused or charged an additional restocking fee, and for any item received that is not complete or in original condition, we reserve the right to increase the restocking fee. Please note that an RMA number does not guarantee final disposition. All returns are subject to inspection. Returns ARE NOT allowed for personalized items, items purchased at wholesale and/or purchased for commercial resale, as well as items, which have been purchased for use in Set Dressing, Photography, Film or TV Projects -- it is an abuse of our Return policy to accommodate free short-term use. Refunds can only be issued back to the original purchaser and will typically be made in the same method as the original method of payment (e.g. payment by check, refund by check, payment by credit card, refund by credit card, payment by PayPal, refund by PayPal, etc.) In circumstances where in kind refund is unavailable, internal credit will be issued. Please wait 10 days from date we received the package for us to process your return.
CONFIRMATION & DELIVERY: Online orders will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours. Orders placed before 1pm MST are processed that day, orders placed after 1pm might be processed on the following day. Items typically ship the day of or the day following the initial order. Items shipped via standard shipping are typically delivered within 3 to 9 business days. Phone orders left on our voicemail will be returned within 24 hours. Please note, certain items are special orders or made to order will be process and then subsequently shipped when completed. If we are out of stock on a particular item and the item is typically only a few days away from production we will continue to process your order. However, if a long delay is anticipated, we attempt to contact the customer to let them know prior to processing the order and / or contact the customer to provided suggested substitutions.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY: PACKAGING MATERIAL RECYCLE & REUSE POLICY: We are conscious of the need to preserve resources, minimize waste and reduce the impact on the environment. Since our inception, was have had a strong policy to recycle and reuse many items, including packaging materials, whenever we can.
COLORADO RESIDENTS ONLY: If the destination of your package(s) is within the City and County of Denver, a 7.2% sales tax will be added to your order. If the destination of your package is outside the City of Denver, but within the immediate region served by RTD transportation, a 3.7% sales tax will be added to your order. If the destination of your package is outside of the Denver area, but within the state of Colorado, a 2.9% sales tax will be added to your order. If the destination of your package is outside the state of Colorado, no sales tax will be charged.

Custom Production Clients Represent and Warrant that they are fully authorized to produce all designs and materials (including but not limited to samples, products, photos, drawings, mock-ups) submitted to us for Custom Production, and that provided designs and materials and the to be created Custom Production Product(s) are not and will not be in violation of any copyright or any other intellectual property rights.
In no event shall Arden be liable hereby for any direct, indirect, punitive, consequential or special damages, including but not limited to business interruption, lost business or profits, or loss of data, even if Arden is advised of their possible existence. Custom Production Client agrees to defend, indemnify and hold Arden (and our officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, partners, affiliates and employees) harmless, including for any damages, costs, fees expended in its defense or settlement, in the event that any legal or equitable claims arise out of the custom production project or client’s utilization of Arden's work.
