Fireworks Brooch - Museum Shop Collection
Inspired by the collections of The Dayton Art Institute
The design of this jewelry was inspired by the 1906 painting Le Diner Au Casino (dinner at the Casino) by French artist Gaston La Touche. The elegance and pastimes of fin de siècle France are portrayed with great panache in La Touches painting. Ladies and gentlemen dressed in formal attire sit on an outdoor terrace enjoying the night. In the distant sky, fireworks crown the festive evening with shimmering gold and white light.
