Egyptian Falcon Pendant - Museum Shop Collection
c. 15 AD
from the collections of Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden
This falcon is a replica of a gold amulet wrapped with the ancient mummy, Neswaiu over 2000 years ago to protect him. It remains hidden within its folds. This mummy is intact, unlike most of which were looted and destroyed already in ancient times. Via a unique 3D representation, both the interior and exterior of the mummy can be explored. By using modern 3D printing and traditional casting technology, the amulet has been recreated while still wrapped inside the mummy.
