The softly formed, undulating teardrop is engraved with a memorial inscription probably of 17th century origin. The poesy tradition of engraved jewelry is most often associated with love, friendship, marriage and devotion but examples of memorial jewelry exist as early as Roman times and have been made throughout the centuries. This necklace is a continuation of a long tradition and its organic shape is designed purposely to touch and remember.
Inscription: Heaven has in store what thou has lost. Sterling Silver, 1 1/8" long x 5/8" wide
