The original ring after which this one was modeled is in the collection of Thomas Jefferson's much beloved home, Monticello, now a museum. That ring was made in gold with blue enamel. Our adaptation here replaces the enamel with antiquing so that it can be worn on a daily basis for generations (as enamel is very fragile and scratches easily). Yet, this ring faithfully represents the original with its wonderful message about the essence of love.
Inspired by an inscription on a ring given to Thomas Jefferson's daughter when she was at school in Paris: J'aime et j'espere, meaning 'I love and I hope'. Sterling Silver
