This bracelet has been engraved with the first word of the Second Rabbinic Bible, printed in Venice in 1525 and now in the collection of the New York Public Library. The orchid and foliate engraving are from the page decoration. This four-volume Bible of 1525-was edited by the Tunis-born rabbinic scholar Jacob ben Hayim ibn Adonijah, and featured the commentaries of several leading medieval Jewish men of wisdom. Scholarship aside, the word is evocative and can serve to start us on any path or train of thought.
Engraved in Hebrew: B'reshit, meaning 'in the beginning'. Sterling Silver, Length: 8", Double chain bracelet, Toggle closure,
