The spotted cat design of this virtual frame is taken from a book by Peruvian artist Elena Izcue, El arte peruano en la escuela, published in 1926. In this book, the artist adapted motifs found on ancient Peruvian textiles and ceramics for copying by students. This was part of an effort to revive the rich artistic heritage of ancient Peru and make use of it in contemporary design.
