Suzanis are rare silk embroidered textiles that, until the end of the 19th C., women of Central Asia sewed for dowry gifts. With their brilliant colors and a wide range of design, they possess the splendor of the ancient Silk Road. Some feature delicate floral motifs, others geometric. Only a few centers of Suzani production still exist. This exquisite needlecraft technique needs skilled artists, and only older people are prepared to work on this. Every Suzani is a community project; several artists work together to complete one silk embroidered blanket. Established as works of art. Rare blankets, hand embroidered with colorful silk threads on hand woven cotton. Complete with Certificate of Authenticity. Availability is limited.
