Hand-Wrought Iron The invention of iron ore smelting changed the world. The Iron Age favored cultures skilled in the craft of blacksmithing. They became dominant, since iron weapons were superior to those made of bronze or wood. The art of forging iron has endured the ages, and a true blacksmith still uses a super-heated ?re to hammer red-hot iron over an anvil, intermittently cooling it with water. Replicating antique wrought iron means just that. This is not a craft that can be copied by machines. Admittedly, candles are not the most modern of lighting, but they certainly are the most romantic and nostalgic. That's why we have reproduced our antique originals as candlelit. Some date back to the Renaissance, others to the 18th and 19th Centuries. Hand-wrought, made to last forever if lovingly cared for. Even expert antique dealers have trouble distinguishing our reproductions from their originals, fabulous as they are...
